Zeitaufwand (inklusive Maske) 7 Stunden.

Paarbild:
Titel: 1920 Paarportrait
Model: Glenna Weber (Schauspielerin aus Wien) und Sam Madwar (Set Designer aus Wien) Plattengröße (Positiv): 30x40cm
Kamera: Unbekannter Hersteller um 1900
Objektiv: Voigtlaender Heliar 360mm F4.5 @ F4.5
Blitze: Hensel Expert Pro 1000 Hensel mono 1800 Pro 1000 und mono 1800 (volle Leistung) mit std Reflektor als Hauptlicht
Belichtungszeit: Objektivkappe runter, händisch Blitze auslösen, kurz offen lassen (damit etwas vom Hintergrund zur Geltung kommt) und dann wieder Objektivkappe schließen.

English version:

Because my camera is over 100 years old, we did a engagement shooting 1920th style.
It was pretty common, that people looked away from the camera that time during a portrait shoot and because of that we did a similar portrait. With the couple photo, we wanted to reflect the 1920th again. Not only because of the cloth, also because how the groom stands in the middle and the bride on the side. The shooting was a major success and as you can see we did justice for that time with this old technique.

How it was done: Wetplate photography. Every plate is poured by hand with collodion, then it comes in a silver nitrate bath to get light sensitive and afterwards it has to be shot in 4 minutes, at the end you have develop, fix and wash it. To protect the silver and get the shiny look, the plates get varnished with sandarac and lavender oil (Sandarac varnish). Before every big plate (12x16inch) I am shooting a smaller one (4×5) to get the exposure right. ISO is about 0.5 (depends on the age of the chemistry, can be less too). Time for preparation (makeup and so on) and two plates: 7 hours

Exposure time: Taking lens cap of, fire strobes manually by hand, wait a bit (to get some more environment light) and putting the lens cap on again.
