Pool Synergy: My Favorite Player

Everybody has one, but must it be only one person ? Efren is the name you often hear when you ask about favorite players. I think he is a man who loves the sport even after the long time he has been playing it. I saw him practicing with Brendan Crockett and I will never…

World Pool Team Championship 2010 Finals

Worl Pool Team Championship 2010 Final Day

I was lucky today, because I woke up early. I totally did not know that the finals are starting @ 3 pm. I just heard it on the live stream (yes I know I am a freak watching the live stream on the hotel room).
Great Britain against the Philippines and what can I say. I saw great matches, but the team GB ruled this day. 4:1 is a very clear statement, just let the pictures speak for themselves.

A lot of thanks to Dynamite and the gang for winning their games and having not a shootout ;-) Congratulations to all the players for a great tournament day. Very exciting ! After taking some pics from the players night I am sitting again here in the smokers lounge (with Florian) and writing my article. See you tomorrow guys, for a very last exciting day.

WTC Day 11, Darren against China and a great shootout

Another amazing day…..wow…I totally overslept, but I was on time there. I still was developing pictures when the tournament already started. I took pictures then of the first matches and went back to empty my memory cards. After I went in again, one of the last matches were Darren against LIu Haitao. Looks like Dynamite lost already. It was 5 to 1 I think. The Daz came back and they went to hill hill. Daren had to shoot a tough ball and scratched. The table was wide open and Darren knew that it will end here.
But nobody was able to see what then happened. The Chinese guy had ball in hand and scratched on the first ball. WOW that I call pressure. Darren finished the last three balls and then we had to see the longest shootout of this tournament (until now). These guys were amazing, nearly every ball was falling in the pocket and it ended wit 27:25 for Dynamite and his gang. Congratulations to both teams !!!

World Team Championship Day 10, a lot of emotion

Sorry for the late update today, but yesterday was very exciting. Germany 1 lost against Darren and the guys.
Mr. Archer is my hero of this day. the score was 3:2 for the Greek guys and Johny was in the final match 6:6 race to 7.
He had to shoot a very thin cut 2 ball down the whole table and he did it. Just with enough speed…the two Ball just felt in and he finished the table after that.
And then I saw the greatest shootout in my life. Team USA against the Greek guys and Germany 2 against Sweden.
What a exciting shootout….forget the action @ Derby or something else….it was the best Pool experience in my life.
I had so much fun with Johny and the Americans really played very well. But lost @ the end 13:11. Congratulation to the Greek team.Germany showed how a team with big balls can look like and won 8:6

Be sure to check the gallery till the end. A lot of emotion is waiting for you there….after that I put some pics in from around the exhibition. Enjoy:

World Team Championship Day 8, let the fun start

After about 3 hours sleep, I was surprisely away. I had again a great breakfast and had to rush after it to the booth.
Finally I found a guy (Darren) who let me shot a wide angle picture of his face. With this picture I got a lot of other players to do the same. Thanks guys, it was a lot of fun. I missed a terrific shootout today, because I was working on the pics :-( I had a beer with some friends @ the evening and then I went into my room to update the pictures….late again…..as usual.

World Team Championship Day 7, a lot of action

Finally I got to sleep long…was waking up @ 2pm…. rushing to the tournament area to shoot pics.
This time I shoot some ambiance pictures from all the booths and the shows around.
Shooting pics without shaky hands is much easier ;-)
Sadly Austria lost the shootout, but Germany won their shootout.
Again it’s late and tomorrow I have to be @ 10:00 @ the booth :-( Enjoy the pics.
