Ready to Rock – The Black Proteus

Am Donnerstag habe ich für The Black Proteus ihr erstes Konzert im Replugged fotografiert.Ich war schon etwas früher dort und habe mit der Band im Backstage Bereich ein wenig Zeit verbracht. 10 Minuten vor dem Start habe ich mein Setup aufgebaut und dann ging es auch schon los. Die Band ging von Anfang an so derartig ab, dass wirklich alle im Lokal mitgerissen wurden. Die Leute kamen immer näher zur Bühne und somit konnte ich gut die Action einfangen. Nach dem Ende des Auftritts wurde von der Menge sogar eine Zugabe gefordert. Somit war es auch kein Wunder, dass sie diese Battle gegen drei andere Bands gewonnen haben.
Mich haben sie sofort als neuen Fan gewonnen. Damit ihr euch selbst ein Bild von ihrer Musik machen könnt, gibts gleich hier ein Video von ihnen:

I shot a concert a Thursday for The Black Proteus. They played a battle against three other bands in the Replugged. I waited with them in the back stage area and put my setup in place 10 minutes before they started to rock. And man they did – it was like a explosion. Alle the people went down to the stage area and started to move with the band. I think it was the first time at this location for me that I heard the people shouting for an encore. No wonder they won the battle and also won me as a new fan. To get an idea what I am taking about, listen to this one:

Kaiser Franz Joseph Nassplatten Shooting – Sneakpreview und behind the scenes

1891 wurde unser Kaiser Franz mit Kaiser Karl in Cannes fotografiert. Dieses Foto sollte für eine Fernsehdokumentation nachgestellt werden.
Diesen Part übernahm ich, ganz originalgetreu mit einer ca. 100 Jahre alten Kamera und einen Emil Busch Objektiv, dass noch um einiges älter ist.
Chemie, die ich selbst erstellt habe, eine Platte die mit dieser händisch von mir beschichtet wurden und genau diese Platte wurden dann manuell in der antiken Kamera belichtet. Nassplattenfotografie, eine Kunst, die nur mehr wenige beherschen.
Fotografiert wurde Kaisers Ururenkel Leopold Altenburg (http://leopoldaltenburg.com/) und Urururenkel Nikolaus.
Das ganze Team um den Regisseur Stefan Ludwig (http://www.metafilm.at) war extrem professionell und ausdauernd.
Leopold und Nikolaus trotzen bei gefühlten 50 Grad der Hitze und waren immer gut aufgelegt, als Draufgabe gab es dann sogar noch ein wenig Gesang nach der Aufnahme.
Der Tag mit euch hat richtig Spaß gemacht und ich freue mich schon sehr auf das Ergebnis.

English Version:
1891 a photo was taken in Cannes with emperor Franz Joseph and Karl. I was asked to redo this photograph with my historical equipment.
With my self mixed chemicals, a 100 year old camera and an older Emil Busch Lens, it could not get any much closer to historically redo that photograph. The art of wet plate photography needs lot of concentration to get the shot done.
We did the plate with emperors grand grand grandchild Leopold Altenburg (http://leopoldaltenburg.com/) and grand grand grand grandchild Nikolaus.
The team around the director of Stefan Ludwig (http://www.metafilm.at) was extremely professional.
Despite of the very hot day, Leopold und Nikolaus were always in a great mood and at the end they even started to sing.
I enjoyed the day with you guys a lot and I’m looking forward to the outcome of that day.

Entstehung der Nassplatte (making of) touch my ink
Hier könnt ihr euch die Entstehung meiner letzten Nassplatte ansehen. Wir haben an diesen Tag zwei Platten (Glas und Metall) erstellt. Beide Platten stehen zum Verkauf. Diese Unikate entstehen mit viel Leidenschaft, Silber und Licht.

Summerfeeling Event in my Hometown

Festwerk hat in unserer Gemeinde Muckendorf-Wipfing eine tolle Veranstaltung aufgestellt.
Mit dem Titel “Hier beginnt der Sommer jetzt schon” startete ein tolles Event mit viel Tanz und guter Musik.

Slowfrog again. This time they played during the Vienna Band Contest in Replugged.

On tour with slowforg
Buddies of mine started some time ago a band…their name is slowfrog http://www.facebook.com/#!/slowfrog.
I listened to their music in the office sometimes and thought they are ok, but first time I saw them life they blew me away… So I took the opportunity and joint their trip to Graz with my cameras. This gallery is quite a bit different to the others…its kind of documentary from Vienna to Club Wakum http://www.wakmusic.at/ (in Graz).
I enjoyed it a lot with you guys and later after the gig I felt alive again for some moments…..
