Behind the United Art Gallery – Anton Orlov Daguerreotype Artist
Anton Orlov (http://thephotopalace.blogspot.com) ist talking in this video podcast about his Covid19 related wet plate and Daguerreotype work.
Anton also talks about his coolered Daguerreotypes and wet plates. At the very end he also explains how he did his epic Daguerreotype panorama.
A long video, where Anton goes into lots of details. Very interesting for alternative process lovers and for those who want to go there.

Photo + Adventure 2019

Das war unsere erste Photo+Adventure in Wien.
Dabei war uns nicht langweilig, denn es gab einiges zu tun. Wir haben einige Porträts auf Kollodium Nassplatte erstellt und viele viele Fragen beantwortet. Schön, dass der 170 Jahre alte Prozess so viel Neugierde hervorgebracht hat. Außerdem haben wir viel gelernt und beim nächsten Messeauftritt wird es mehr Action geben. Danke an alle Besucher für das Interesse an meiner Arbeit. Es hat riesig Spaß gemacht mit euch!
Ein zusätzliches großes Danke an Alex, Thom und das ganze Team der Photo+Adventure. Eure Hilfe war spitze!!! Ein Video über das Event folgt in ca. 3 Wochen.

This was our first appearance at the Photo+Adventure in Vienna.
We were pretty busy all the time. I shot a lot of wet plate portraits and together we answered many questions. Good to see that the 170 year old wet plate collodion process drew that much interest. Beside that we learned a lot, next time we will show much more action. Thanks to all visitors for the interest in my work. I enjoyed it a lot with you guys!

Ultra Large Format Wet Plate Workshop and more

Swirly Petzval bokeh and lens support part I

Um auch 30x40cm Platten mit einem Swirl versorgen zu können, kaufte ich mir ein neues Petzval Objektiv (330mm F4). Da dieses auch mehr Gewicht hat, mußte ich eine Objektivunterstützung für meine Kamera bauen. Nach erfolgreichen Designen einer Lösung, belohnte ich mich selbst mit einen Selbstportrait. Beides könnt ihr in dem nachfolgenden Video sehen

to be able to shoot 30x40cm swirly portraits, I got myself a new Petzval lens (330mm F4). There was just one issue with it – the lens was heavy. That was the reason I designed myself a lens support system for my camera. After I completed this task, I treated myself with a swirly self portrait. And yes, I did also a video about it.
