More than 20 years ago I worked in IT providing vip support services.
I had many different clients, but there was one of them I kept thinking of all the time.
He visited me once a month and after the official part was done, we went for lunch.
I remember lots of interesting conversations. I regretted not to ask for a contact after he retired.
I missed our conversations. Some years later I thought I saw him at the photo adventure, thats the biggest photography fair in Austria. I tried to run after him back then, but there was a crowd of people and because of that I lost him (if it was the right person back then anyway)
Three months ago I went to a meeting of our professional photography association. I enjoyed the meeting with lots of people I know. At the end there were only a few of us left.
I talked with a photographer I did not know for a while and at some point his voice sounded familiar. Thats when I asked him for his name and in the first moment I could not believe who was sitting with me on the table for the whole evening. Exactly the person I was thinking for so many years. We exchanged our contact data and I invited him for a wet plate portrait.
Guess what, after the portrait we went for dinner and had again these conversations I was thinking of all the time. During that I captured a second portrait with my Leica.
But this is not the end, he captured also some portraits of me that I really like. Thanks a lot for that. I posted one of them already on the world photography day on my instagram account.
Sometimes such things are happening when you expect them the least.
