Building a 110-Year-Old Tintype Camera – Part I

Posted on November 6, 2024November 6, 2024 By Markus

As you may recall from my viral video about my new stereo camera, I’m excited to share that I’m embarking on a fun project to modify it for the wet collodion process. In the first part of this series, I’ll be focusing on the wet plate holder. The first design had some issues, but the second one turned out much better. I’m particularly pleased with the lid that connects with magnets to the wet plate holder. In the second part of the series, I’ll be tackling the tripod mount (yes, the camera doesn’t have one yet!). Stay tuned for more details in the first part of this exciting journey.
